In 1988 Don raced in the Skip Barber Midwest Series – while working as one of the mechanics – and was named Rookie of the Year… ‘‘Dancin’ Don’’ was a tenured associate professor of Dance at Buffalo State College (SUNY College Buffalo)… He’s been an instructor for the SCCA Western New York and Toronto area, and has coached drivers in IMSA, PSR, PCA, Ferrari Challenge, Grand-Am and Vintage racing. Don’s been part of numerous Ride & Drive and product introduction tours, including lead instructor for the annual Viper Thrill Rides event… His racing resume includes: 1996 and 1997, IMSA Endurance Racing (best finishes were two second-places at Sears Point and Mosport 24-hour, where he co-drove with Pierre Kleinenbing); 1989-1991, various Formula Ford, F2000, Sports Racer events; 1989, IMSA Professional Endurance Racing; and Western New York SCCA Formula Ford Rookie of the Year, 1987… Don started racing in karts in 1958 and won numerous regional and territorial championships based out of Mansfield, Ohio (sadly never the National Championship)… His parents, John and Doris Kutschall, were instrumental in starting and administrating the Dart Kart Speedway Club in 1958 (originally the Mansfield Kart Club) which is still one of the largest and most active Karting clubs in the US and stages endurance races at Mid-Ohio.
