The first and only racing school in North America in which students – no experience required – learn the art and science of race car driving in the very same car as is used in a professional racing series: The SCCA Pro Racing Playboy Mazda MX-5 Cup.
Prerequisites And Requirements
A valid driver's license is required (exceptions may be granted for those with karting or other competition experience). Drivers must be comfortable operating a manual transmission and certain height and weight restrictions apply. Drivers under 18 must have parental consent.

MX-5 Cup race car or Formula Skip Barber. Formula Skip Barber or MX-5 Cup race car. Can’t decide? Now you don’t have to. Sample both cars in a full day of activities. Experience 60 minutes of on-track action each in the open-wheel Formula Skip Barber and the Mazda Miata based MX-5 Cup race cars.

Like the successful formula-car three day school, the MAZDASPEED Three Day Racing School emphasizes track time combined with the best, most experienced instructor corps in the industry.
Built to exacting specifications by Skip Barber Racing School, the MX-5 Cup race car features a mild steel rollcage, custom-fitted HANS Device compatible seats and harnesses and a racing steering wheel. A MAZDASPEED Motorsports Development package utilizes intake and exhaust system updates and a custom ECU to up engine output to 200 horsepower while custom shocks, springs and anti-roll bars bring the suspension up to racing spec.
Each day begins with a classroom "chalk talk," then you're on the race track. What you can expect:

Day One
Intense series of slalom, braking and downshifting exercises with special attention on double-clutch/heel-and-toe downshifting and a lead/follow session

Day Two
Series of high-speed lapping sessions combined with racing theory and advanced braking techniques

Day Three
Track drills in drafting, passing and racing in the rain; double-file race starts and single-file restarts
Upon Completion
Graduates of a Skip Barber THREE DAY RACING SCHOOL are eligible to participate in Advanced Activities required to participate in the Skip Barber MAZDASPEED Challenge. Eligible graduates can also apply for Regional SCCA Competition Licenses.

Upcoming Advanced 2 Day Racing School Sessions
This is where you safely learn how to "rotate" a car – critical to a fast lap, as you point to the apex and make mid-corner adjustments. Getting comfortable with balancing a vehicle in a "drift" is important. You drive a mix of Skip Barber Racing vehicles: Formula Skip Barber, Mazda RX-8 and MAZDA3.
