Karting Shoot-out

Saturday, January 08, 2005 MONTEREY, Calif. (Jan. 8) – Beginning to assert the speed and consistency of the kind that will impress the judges were Jordy Vorrath, Chris Carmody, Seth Ingham, Cole Nelson and about a dozen others as day two of the Skip Barber Karting Scholarship Shoot-out wrapped. Today, like yesterday, saw mixed weather conditions as the West Coast sees heavy rain, but the 46 karters for the most part adapted well and continued their efforts to convince the judges they’re deserving of scholarships to race in the regional and/or national Skip Barber series. Tomorrow (Sunday) will be the final on-track sessions, and again, wet weather is expected.

Somewhere in this group of 46 karters — some as young as 13 — stand the four that will win coveted Skip Barber Racing scholarships at the ninth annual shoot-out.
