Western Series: McGregor Extends Championship Lead at Halfway Point
Jan 26, 2012Wednesday, January 26, 2011 Lakeville, Conn. (Jan. 26). On January 15 and 16th, the racers of the Formula Skip Barber Western Race Series kicked off the first race of the New Year at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, now marking the halfway point in the 2011 winter race season.
Thomas McGregor started the event off with a bang, capturing both Group 1 wins, and also earning a podium finish in Group 2 Race 2. Kyle Kaiser was the second winner of the weekend, taking home the Group 2 Race 1 win while also finishing on the podium twice more. Scott Anderson had an impressive weekend, gracing the podium in each of the four races, including one race win in Group 2 Race 2.
Thomas McGregor extended the championship lead over Scott Anderson to a now seventeen-point lead.
