Bize Completes Skip Barber MAZDASPEED Pro Challenge Weekend Sweep At Canadian Tire Motorsport Park

Braselton, Ga. (July 14, 2014)- The Skip Barber MAZDASPEED Pro Challenge Series crossed the border this past week to race on the famed Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. The field showcased the depth of talent within the series, but Lucas Bize, of New York, finished the weekend with two outstanding wins.
In the championship point standings, Kemper holds the point lead with 453. Albano sits 10 markers behind, with Foley in third having collected 423 points.
In the first race of the weekend, Lucas Bize, of New York, claimed the top step of the podium. Performing well in qualifying, Bize started off the race at second, but despite having a strong position in class, Bize quickly dropped to fourth in the opening lap. Despite dropping off early, Bize perserved.  On lap 22, he got around Robby Foley to take the lead and eventual win.
Ben Albano, of Greenwich, Connecticut, scored a second-place finish at the controls of his No. 61 Project Yellow Light SBMX-5. Completing the Skip Barber podium was Drake Kemper, of Toluca Lake, California, in his No. 99 Royal Rugby SBMX-5.
In the last race of the weekend, Bize continued his weekend with another top spot placing. Bize and Albano borke away from the pack early. The distance between Bize and Albano allowd the two some breathing room, whicn in turn allowed them to run fast laps in the draft. Albano took second and Drake Kemper, of Toluca Lake, California, finished third, behind the wheel of his No. 99 Royal Rugby SBMX-5.
The MAZDASPEED Pro Challenge Championship includes six double race weekends. The champion of the Skip Barber MAZDASPEED Pro Challenge class receives a scholarship toward the 2015 season of the Mazda MX-5 Cup Series.
The second place winner receives a full season in the Skip Barber Racing School MAZDASPEED Pro Challenge and the third-place winner receives a scholarship for half a season in the Skip Barber Racing School MAZDASPEED Pro Challenge.
