Want a lift? Then, carve out a few minutes and check out “A New Adventure” in the March, 2019 issue of SportsCar Magazine. The story, told in his own words, is the journey of Jonathan Winker from teenager fixated on racing to Army Veteran disabled during a combat deployment in Iraq to suffering through years of surgeries and rehabilitation to newly energized Skip Barber Racing School Three Day Racing School graduate … and the proud holder of an SCCA Competition Novice Permit.

The dreams never die, and Winker’s story is a real affirmation of how a dream can become a reality.

We’re honored to have Jonathan part of the distinguished list of Skip Barber Racing School alumni and look forward to welcoming him to our Two Day Advanced Racing School at Road Atlanta. He’s shooting for his SCCA Competition License, and with the talent, grit and determination he exhibited at our school at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, we’re as confident as he is that his dream of competition is coming on fast.

We especially liked this quote from Jonathan — “When I am on the racetrack, I am not disabled. I can compete with a total level playing field with other able-bodies drivers, something few sports can do.”

And, candidly, we’re pretty happy with this quote, as well — “The feedback was fantastic — I learned so much in such a short amount of time.”

Hey, Jonathan! See you at Road Atlanta!
