SKIP BARBER INSTRUCTOR THOMAS MERRILL TAKES TRANS AM CHECKERED FLAG

The Skip Barber Racing School Ford Mustang took the TA2 title at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca this past weekend, piloted by racing school instructor Thomas Merrill.

After being third fastest in practice, Merrill didn’t qualify due to a mechanical issue and the No. 81 Ford Mustang was forced to start 26th — second-to-last. Making it to the front took incredible skill, tactics and the support of great teams.  The red, black and white Skip Barber Racing School/Big Diehl Racing Mustang took the checkered flag in TA2 this past weekend at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca — the same track where Thomas is one of the outstanding racing instructors for Skip Barber Racing School.  It’s his home track … the place where he “likes to make noise!”

“I can’t say enough about Big Diehl Racing and Skip Barber Racing,” Merrill proclaimed as the race ended and he experienced the thrill of victory.  “We’re the best team in the paddock, and today really proved that.”
