INDY 500 ALUMNI ALBUM – Ryan Hunter-Reay

When the green flag drops on Sunday, Ryan Hunter-Reay will be staring in the 22nd position, but as every driver will assure you, at the 500, you can win from any position.  And, win he has.  Hunter-Reay, drawing on his experience at Skip Barber Racing School was named “Rookie of the Year” for his 2008 debut. In 2012, was IndyCar Champion to his resume and was celebrated two years in a row as the ESPY Driver of the Year. Two years later, in 2014 he donned the wreath of flowers, hoisted the cup of milk, kissed the bricks and was celebrated as the winner of the 500. Although Ryan is known as an “open wheeler,” he’s been a force in DPi in the IMSA WeatherTech Challenge.
As Terry Earwood, Chief Instructor at Skip Barber Racing School reflected on his time with Ryan Hunter-Reay, “he arrived with incredible talent… and we were able to help him take it to the next level.”
