TC America powered by Skip Barber Racing School is set to return to the rolling hills and lush forest of VIRginia International Raceway. After the first two rounds, the Skip Barber Race Team leads both the TC and the TCA points standings. At a venue where the Skip Barber Race Team has podiumed in the past, the team is looking to duplicate that performance this weekend.
After a solid weekend at NOLA Motorsports Park, Kevin Boehm enters the weekend with the lead in the TC field by 27 points over Mat Pombo. After winning three of the last four races, No. 9 CrowdStrike / AWS / Skip Barber HPD Civic Type-R is sure to be at the front of the field. Skip Barber Lead Instructor Ken Fukuda looks to bounce back into podium contention after facing adversity in the last round. At a track he has coached at numerous times before, look for the No. 42 Skip Barber Racing School HPD Civic Type-R to be a real contender at VIR.
Carter Fartuch sits at the top of TCA championship with a 14-point lead over Gresham Wagner. The driver of the No. 16 2022 Gen 11 HPD Civic Si is no stranger to the podium at VIR, claiming a second-place finish in last year’s VIR round of TC America. Fartuch is looking to continue his streak of podium finishes and maintain his points lead. Colin Harrison climbs back into the No. 2 2021 HPD Civic Si after showing impressive pace at NOLA Motorsports Park. The Skip Barber student-turned-pro-racer is on track to have his best showing on the 3.27-mile road course. The Skip Barber Race Team efforts in the TCA field grows to a three-car effort with the addition of Mike Ogren. After competing in two rounds of TC America last year in the TC field, Ogren returns to TCA competition behind the wheel of the No. 20 2021 HPD Civic Si.
