Thursday, September 02, 2010 Just two years ago, sixteen year old Conor Daly captured the BFGoodrich/Skip Barber National Presented by Mazda title with five race wins and ten podium finishes. From there, the young driver won the Team USA scholarship and Walter Hayes trophy, competing at the Formula Ford race at Silverstone, becoming the first ever American winner. He then continued in the MAZDASPEED Driver Development program and finished third over all in the 2009 Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear with one win and six podiums. The 2010 season proved to be the best season yet for the son of race car driver Derek Daly, as he won a record setting seven races, nine pole positions, and eleven podium finishes with still one race to go. Daly’s last Star Mazda race of the season will be with the 13th Annual running of Petit La Mans September 29th-October 2nd. Road Atlanta will also be host that weekend to the two final rounds of the BFGoodrich/Skip Barber National Presented by Mazda and the Cooper Tires Presents the USF2000 National Championship Powered by Mazda, in which Skip Barber National alumni Sage Karam holds a fifty-five point lead.
