Braselton, GA. (June 5, 2014) – It was an exciting weekend at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca for Rounds 3 and 4 of the 2014 Skip Barber Summer Series! Racers of the Skip Barber Formula group took to Salinas, California to battle on the famed corkscrew. In Group 1, Skip Barber Racing School scholarship winner Luke Gabin displayed his talent by placing first in both races. Veteran racer and master’s driver, Gus Doppes took the podium in both races as well, earning third place in each. In the Master’s Group, veteran racers also showcased their discipline and determination. The masters group is designated to racers aged 40 and older. Grand Master Quentin Wahl displayed his talent and experience grabbing an exciting win in Race 1. Grand Master Pat Daly also took home a podium in Race 1 and a first place finish in Race 2. Other notable finishes include Grand Master Gus Doppes, who finished second in both races. In Group 3, Olivier Cote snatched the first place spot in Race 1, and Nikita Lastochkin won race 2. Other notable participants include Alex Keyes, who finished second in both races. Racers of the Formula Skip Barber Summer Series will travel to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Complex June 18-22 for Rounds 5 & 6 when the 2014 Skip Barber Summer Series MAZDASPEED Challenge will take to the track again for Rounds 3 & 4.
