A trio of Skip Barber Racing School alumni finished IndyCar’s Thermal Club Grand Prix in the top ten with Andretti ’s Colton Herta (4th) and Kyle Kirkwood (8th) leading fellow alumni Alexander Rossi (9th) in the 65-lap showdown. It was an even better Sunday for Skip Barber alumni Zak Brown, whose McLaren Racing outfit scored a 1-2 finish in the Chinese Grand Prix and a double-podium finish in the NTT IndyCar Series. With Oscar Piastri’s victory and Lando Norris’ second place finish, McLaren extended their lead in the Formula 1 World Constructors Championship. In Southern Florida, the NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series, and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series visited Homestead-Miami Speedway for a weekend of action. Skip Barber graduates Alex Bowman (2nd) and Bubba Wallace (3rd) both held the lead of the race in the final stage. For Wallace, he is off to his career-best start in the NASCAR Cup Series. Sunday’s third place finished vaulted him four spots up the standings. The 23XI driver now sits in seventh. Skip Barber graduates Chris Buescher (6th), AJ Allmendinger (7th) and Tyler Reddick (8th) also finished in the top ten. In the NASCAR Xfinity Series, graduates Austin Hill (3rd) and Brandon Jones (7th) finished in the top ten. Alumni Ross Chastain, making a start in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series was sixth in Friday night’s race. Looking ahead to this weekend, the SRO America season will begin from Sonoma Raceway with a full-slate of action including the debut race of McLaren Trophy, America where Skip Barber will field two entries including one for Cooper Broll and McLaren Graduate Driver Tommy Pintos.
