Skip Barber Graduate and Wayne Taylor Racing team owner Wayne Taylor claimed the DPi victory this past weekend’s IMSA Fastlane SportsCar Weekend at the picturesque Road America with his son and fellow Skip Barber grad Ricky Taylor behind the wheel. The No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Acura took the lead with 20 minutes remaining in the 2-hour and 40-minute-long race to claim victory and take over the points lead in the DPi class. Two Skip Barber Graduates placed in the Top 5 in INDYCAR’s return to the streets of Nashville. Alexander Rossi drives his way to a fourth-place finish, fresh off his latest win at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The driver of the No. 27 Andretti Autosport Honda had to fight his way back after being a lap down due to contact early in the race. Colton Herta faced a similar battle but recovered from early contact in the race and finished fifth behind the wheel of his No. 26 Andretti Autosport Honda. In the NASCAR Cup Series race at Michigan International Speedway, Bubba Wallace finished runner-up. The driver of the No. 23 23XI Racing Toyota had a record weekend after winning his first ever pole position, leading 22 laps in the race and tying his season-best finish with his second runner-up finish this year. Wallace is building up momentum for a win, after placing Top 5 in 3 of the last 4 NASCAR Cup Series races. A pair of Skip Barber Alumni placed Top 5 in the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Michigan International Speedway. Noah Gragson kept his No. 9 JR Motorsports Chevrolet at the front of the field after starting on the pole and finished his day in third, his eleventh Top 5 finish of the season. Gragson currently sits fourth in the NASCAR Xfinity Series standings. Austin Hill rounded out the Top 5 behind the wheel of his No. 21 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet. Hill is placed sixth in the NASCAR Xfinity Series standings.
