Chris Buescher scores a third-place finish in the NASCAR Cup Series race at Richmond Raceway, his second podium finish of the season. The driver of the No. 17 Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing Ford visited the Skip Barber Racing School in 2021 for an advanced coaching session to improve his road racing skills and learn Circuit of the Americas ahead of NASCAR’s debut race at the 20-turn circuit. Buescher found race-winning speed late in the race, but lapped traffic slowed down his momentum, allowing the front runners to pull away, relegating him to third. Three Skip Barber graduates placed in the Top 4 in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Richmond Raceway. Chandler Smith claimed his third win of the season after leading the final 175 laps, surviving two restarts. With the No. 18 Kyle Busch Motorsports Toyota in victory lane, Smith advances himself to the next round of the Playoffs. John Hunter Nemechek finished runner-up, scoring Kyle Busch Motorsports the 1-2 finish and Nemechek’s seventh Top 3 finish. Nemechek sits fourth in the current standings with a high probability of moving forward to the next round of the Playoffs. Grant Enfinger piloted his No. 23 GMS Racing Chevrolet to fourth place. With Enfinger’s win at Indianapolis Raceway Park, he has already locked in a spot in the next round of the Playoffs.
