In the NASCAR Cup Series race, Kyle Busch took the victory in only his third start with Richard Childress Racing. The advanced coaching grad took the lead with 34 laps to go behind the wheel of his No. 8 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet and never looked back. With Sunday’s victory, Busch has earned at least one win in 19 consecutive seasons, breaking a tie with Richard Petty for most all-time. Ross Chastain, the pilot of the No. 1 Trackhouse Racing Team Chevrolet, finished third after sweeping the first two stages and leading a race-high of 91 laps. Chastain has completed multiple advanced coaching sessions with Skip Barber Racing School at Circuit of the Americas and Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta. After finishing second in the season-opener at Daytona, John Hunter Nemechek claims the Xfinity Series win after leading a race-high of 49 laps. Last night’s victory in Fontana marks the third career Xfinity Series victory for the driver of the No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota. Chandler Smith claimed his best career Xfinity Series finish after ending his day in the fourth-place position. Both Chandler Smith and John Hunter Nemechek visited Skip Barber Racing School at Circuit of the Americas for advanced coaching to brush up on their road course racing skills. In the Trans Am Series season opener at Sebring International Raceway, 2003 Skip Barber Formula Dodge Champion Rafa Matos claimed the TA2 victory. Matos, the pilot of the No. 88 3-Demensional Services Group Ford Mustang, made the pass for the lead on lap 22. The race went under full course caution the following lap, ending the race. Skip Barber grad Adam Andretti finished runner-up in TA class and assisted in a CD Racing 1-2 team finish. Andretti, the nephew of Indianapolis 500 winner Mario Andretti, completed a Skip Barber 3-Day Racing School in 1999.
