Dyson wins at NOLA, Matos and Smith claim podium finishes

Skip Barber graduate Chris Dyson claimed victory in the Trans-Am Series race at NOLA Motorsports Park. Dyson, who is a two-time defending series champion, piloted the No. 16 CD Racing Ford to the lead halfway through the race and held on all the way to the checkered flag. Dyson current sits third in the TA class driver’s championship. In the Trans-Am Series TA2 race at NOLA Motorsports Park, Skip Barber alum Rafa Matos finished on the final step on the podium. The 2003 Skip Barber Formula Dodge Champion carried his momentum from his victory in Sebring to a back-to-back podium finish. Matos currently leads the championship in TA2 class. In the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Phoenix Raceway, Chandler Smith claimed a fifth-place finish. The Skip Barber Advanced Coaching graduate has finished in the Top 5 in the last 3 races. Smith, driver of the No. 16 Kaulig Racing Chevrolet, sits fourth in the current NASCAR Xfinity Series standings.
