Busch visited Skip Barber Racing School at Circuit of the Americas for advanced coaching to learn the track and brush up on his road course racing skills. Defending COTA Cup race winner Ross Chastain secured a pair of Top 5 finishes in both the NASCAR Cup Series race and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race, piloting the No. 1 Team Trackhouse Chevrolet Camaro to a fourth-place finish and the No. 41 Niece Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado to a fifth place finish. Chastain has completed multiple Skip Barber advanced coaching sessions at Circuit of the Americas and Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta to improve his road course racing skills. In the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at COTA, the road course ringer A.J. Allmendinger won the race from pole position. Allmendinger, driver of the No. 10 Kaulig Racing Chevrolet led 28 laps and secured his 11th road course victory in the Xfinity Series, the most of all-time. At the checkered flag, Allmendinger took the victory by a 0.853-margin over second place. In addition to Busch and Chastain finishing in the Top 5, Skip Barber grad Zane Smith went back-to-back after winning the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at COTA. The reigning series champion piloted the No. 38 Front Row Motorsports Ford F150 to the victory after leading the most laps, with 16 of 42 laps led. Smith claimed victory over fellow Skip Barber grad Busch by 5.451 seconds. Connor Zilisch secured his first TA2 victory this past weekend at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta after making a winning pass on the final lap. Zilisch, driver of the No. 7 Silver Hare Racing Chevrolet, was joined on the podium with a pair of Skip Barber alumni of previous Skip Barber Instructor Thomas Merrill in second and 2003 Skip Barber Race Series Champion Rafa Matos in third. In TA class, Chris Dyson goes back-to-back with a win at Road Atlanta after his victory last round at Sebring. Fellow Skip Barber grad Boris Said wheeled his No. 79 Team Weaver Racing Dodge to a runner-up finish after starting in third place. In the USF Pro Championships race weekend at Sebring Raceway, a pair of Skip Barber graduates had a successful weekend and currently lead in their respective championships. Myles Rowe, driver of the No. 99 Pabst Racing / Force Indy Tatuus, swept the race weekend. The rookie driver in USF Pro 2000 has already secured three victories in four starts and has a commanding 42-point lead in the championship standings. 2017 Skip Barber Winter Race Series Champion Simon Sikes secured his first ever USF2000 victory in Race 2. Sikes, pilot of the No. 22 Pabst Racing Tatuus, locked in the pole position for both Race 1 and Race 2, but was unable to hold the top spot in Race 1 and finished runner-up. Sikes is the current championship leader in the USF2000 standings by 3 points.
