The Skip Barber Formula Race Series returns to New Jersey Motorsports Park this week for Round 4 of the seven-round season. The 2.25-mile Thunderbolt course is the only repeat circuit from last year’s schedule and produced incredible racing from our Formula drivers. Top drivers across all motorsports across the world have started their racing journey with the Race Series. Sergio Perez, Alexander Rossi, Josef Newgarden, Ryan Hunter-Reay, A.J. Allmendinger, and Juan Pablo Montoya are just a few of the notables who began their careers with the Skip Barber Race Series. With equalized race cars and a focus on driver development, the Skip Barber Formula Race Series is the perfect platform for aspiring racers to jumpstart their racing dreams. Jeshua Alianell travels to New Jersey as the points leader by a margin of only four points over Elvis Rankin. Last year’s Vice Champion Alianell has scored five podium finishes in six starts, the highest of all drivers. The 2022 Skip Barber Formula iRacing Series Vice Champion Elvis Rankin is only a roll after sweeping the previous round at Watkins Glen. Bobby Krug comes into the New Jersey Motorsports Park race week in the third-place position, dropping back from second after struggling in Race 1 at Watkins Glen. 2022 Skip Barber Formula iRacing Champion Mikkel Gade occupies fourth place, with Skip Barber Formula Race Series veteran Will Lambros rounding out the Top 5. Rocco Orlando continues to lead in the Masters’ division. Second-place driver Bob Perlmutter narrowed the gap between first and second place, as the two drivers are currently separated by only six points.
