ALTON, Virginia - The Skip Barber Race Team claimed two podium finishes in Round 5 & 6 of TC America powered by Skip Barber at VIRginia International Raceway. After an impressive run in both races, Eric Powell officially took over the top spot in the TC Championship points. Powell rolled off from the fourth-place spot in Saturday’s race and piloted the No. 92 Honda Civic Type-R to a third-place finish. He would back up his Saturday performance with a fourth-place finish on Sunday.
Lindsay Brewer continued her streak of improvement after finishing tenth and ninth in the pair of races this past weekend. Brewer made her way to the top 10 in Race 1 by making calculated passes and avoiding late race accidents. She would find more speed for Race 2 and an extra position, bringing her No. 29 Honda Civic Type-R home in ninth. 
Carter Fartuch would grab Skip Barber’s second podium of the weekend and his second podium of the season. Fartuch had pace for a podium finish in Race 1 but was rear-ended by a competitor and incurred body damage that would slow his pace for the final laps. Even with the damage, Fartuch stayed focused and fought for a fifth-place finish. With the damage fixed on the No. 16 Honda Civic Si, Fartuch was able to backup his pace and claim the second step on the podium in Race 2. After a solid weekend, Fartuch moves up to second place in the TCA Championship points. 
In his first-ever pair of pro races, the student turned racer Colin Harrison delivered an outstanding tenth-place and seventh-place finish behind the wheel of the No. 2 Honda Civic Si. Harrison joins the Skip Barber Race Team after attending the Skip Barber 2 Day Advanced Touring Car school at Circuit of the Americas. Harrison took his skills learned in his Skip Barber Racing School programs, private coaching and test days with the school and put on an impressive showing in a field of tough competition at one of the season’s most difficult circuits.
