Five Skip Barber Racing School alumni advanced to the Round of 12 in the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs. Graduates Bubba Wallace, Austin Cindric, Joey Logano, Ross Chastain, and Tyler Reddick will now continue their pursuit of a title over the next three rounds of the season. Among the three races in the Round of 12 is a trip to Kansas Speedway, where Skip Barber Racing School alumni have won the last three fall races at the track — all of whom, Wallace, Reddick, and Chastain, remain in the playoffs. On Saturday night, graduate Zane Smith earned his best NASCAR Cup Series finish of the season with a third-place run at Bristol. He was joined in the top ten by Logano (5th), Carson Hocevar (7th), and Alex Bowman (8th). In the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, alumni Jake Garcia and Chandler Smith remain in contention for the championship with one race remaining in the opening round of the playoffs. Meanwhile, graduates Tanner Gray (6th) and Matt Crafton (10th) finished in the top ten. Finally, Connor Zilisch extended his streak of consecutive top-five finishes to a staggering 14 races, dating back to Memorial Day weekend. Graduates Harrison Burton (7th) and Christian Eckes (8th) added top-ten finishes. Bristol Motor Speedway also hosted the opening round of the NASCAR Xfinity Series playoffs. In the hunt for the Xfinity Series title are graduates Zilisch, Burton, Brandon Jones, Austin Hill, and Sammy Smith.
