Griffin Yellin has become the latest driver to add his name to the 2024 Skip Barber Race Series entry list. The 18-year-old from New York has quickly risen through the ranks of Skip Barber Racing School programs and will make his debut in the legendary Skip Barber Race Series on March 1. Yellin began his racing career with a Three-Day Formula Racing School, an experience that would quickly ensnare him into the world of motorsports. “After my Three-Day, I took some time to work on myself physically and learn more about the sport because I was still new to motorsports, so I wanted to get a sense of it,” Yellin explained. “I went back to Lime Rock Park to do my Two-Day Advanced this past August and that experience confirmed that this was what I wanted to do.” Sebring will not be Yellin’s first experience with the Skip Barber Racing Series. While at Circuit of the Americas last season, Yellin followed the grid for the final round of the championship, sitting in on driver meetings and coaching sessions. His time on the sidelines of the series at COTA only solidified his decision to enter the 2024 season, he explained. “I got to shadow the series and see what it was like. Gerardo and Ken let me sit in on the driver meetings and all of that sealed the deal for me,” he said. Entering this season, Yellin is being careful not set too high expectations for himself, instead choosing to focus on developing as a driver, with the teenager placing an emphasis on consistent, clean driving. The 2024 Skip Barber Race Series begins on March 1 and will visit six iconic tracks across the United States for a total of 14 races. The champion will receive a $100,000 scholarship to advance to a USF-sanctioned series. Second place receives a full-season entry into the 2025 Skip Barber Race Series while third place receives a half season. In total, approximately $375,000 in prizes will be awarded in the 2024 Skip Barber Race Series.
