James Klimas and Skip Barber Racing Prepared for TC America Season

James Klimas will return to compete with Skip Barber Racing in 2025, this time setting his sights on TC America powered by the Skip Barber Racing School. Klimas will pilot the No. 61 Middletown Toyota, Toyota GR Corolla TC. This season will mark Klimas’ debut in TC America and the debut for Toyota Gazoo Racing’s newest car: the Toyota GR Corolla TC. Last season, Klimas competed in Toyota GR Cup North America with Toyota’s popular GR Cup platform. For 50 years, Klimas and his family have owned and operated Middletown Toyota in Middletown, Connecticut. With the introduction of the Toyota GR Corolla TC, Klimas was eager to compete in the brand’s newest offering. “I’m very excited to be a part of the TC America reformation and debuting in the new GR Corolla TC entry for this season,” Klimas said. “The prototype car was a blast to drive in testing in Sebring and I can’t wait to be in the No. 61 Middletown Toyota, Toyota GR Corolla TC in Sonoma and see how it stacks up against the competition of the newly reformed TC America field.” Klimas will begin his 2025 season this weekend at Sonoma Raceway. “It’s great to have James back with us this season,” Skip Barber Racing Team Manager Joe Monitto said. “James impressed us every weekend in Toyota GR Cup, and I know he will do the same in TC America this year. We think this new combined format in TC America will The Toyota GR Corolla TC is shaping up to be a strong platform for the team this season and we have high hopes.” In 2025, TC America powered by the Skip Barber Racing School will feature a new weekend format and class structure. Race lengths have been reduced to 25-minutes, with most weekends hosting a pair of sprint races. The exceptions being Sebring International Raceway and Barber Motorsports Park which will host three races. Additionally, the field will be grouped into a single class.
