Skip Barber Racing School alumni Kyle Kirkwood and Max Taylor claimed victories in the NTT IndyCar Series and INDY NXT races on the streets of Arlington. For Kirkwood, he continued his dominant run on street courses. This victory marks his fourth win on a street circuit, with prior victories at Long Beach and Detroit. The Andretti Global driver leaves Texas with the championship lead in hand after a second-place finish in Phoenix last week. Kirkwood, who was just 14-years-old at the time, completed a Three Day GT Racing School at Sebring International Raceway before competing in the predecessor to the Skip Barber Race Series at Laguna Seca. Meanwhile, 18-year-old Max Taylor claimed his first career INDY NXT victory. Taylor now leads the INDY NXT championship following his second-place finish in the season opener at St. Petersburg. Prior to climbing the open-wheel racing ladder, Taylor completed a Three Day Racing School and Advanced Coaching sessions with the Skip Barber Racing School. Fellow alumni Myles Rowe, a graduate of the Two Day Advanced Racing School, finished ninth in the INDY NXT race. Graduate Alexander Rossi also finished ninth in Sunday’s main event. Also competing on the streets of Arlington this weekend was USF Pro 2000, where Race Series competitor Brady Golan scored a pair of sixth-place finishes. The Toyota GR Cup North America kicked off its 2026 season with a pair of races in Arlington. Skip Barber alumni Beltre Curtis finished sixth in Race 2, while Liam Harrison narrowly missed out on a top-ten finish with an 11th-place run. In Las Vegas, the NASCAR Cup Series and the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series visited their first intermediate track of the season. There, alumni Chris Buescher (6th) and Bubba Wallace (9th) finished in the top ten on Sunday. Wallace is off to an impressive start to the season. He is currently second in the standings, has amassed more stage points than anyone in the field, and has four top-ten finishes through the first five races of the season. In the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, graduates Sammy Smith (5th), Connor Zilisch (7th), and Austin Hill (10th) all finished in the top ten. Smith moved up one position in the standings to sixth with that top-five result, his third of the season. The Zenith Racing Series held a pair of endurance races at Sonoma Raceway where alumni Benjamin Waddell and Clay Magouryk drove a pair of entries to two podium finishes in Race 1 before backing it up with a victory in Race 2. Finally, Dean Lambros (9th) and Will Lambros (10th), both of whom have competed with Skip Barber Racing, finished in the top ten in the INEX Legends at the Charlotte ROVAL.
