Skip Barber Racing School graduates finished in the top ten of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, claimed victory in USF Juniors at VIRginia International Raceway, and finished in the top five of the NASCAR Cup Series at Iowa Speedway. At the Circuit de la Sarthe, Skip Barber Racing School graduates Jordan Taylor and Scott Huffaker finished the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the top ten of their respective classes. Huffaker was 9th in LMP2 and 4th in LMP2 Pro-Am. Taylor, racing in LMGT3, was 8th in class. For the first time in its history, the NASCAR Cup Series ventured to the state of Iowa for a race. In a return to Iowa Speedway for the NASCAR Xfinity Series and a debut at the 0.875-mile oval for the NASCAR Cup Series, Skip Barber graduates filled the top ten with strong showings from Ricky Stenhouse (5th), Joey Logano (6th), Josh Berry (7th), and Alex Bowman (8th). Stenhouse’s top-five finish is his best non-superspeedway result of the season. In the NASCAR Xfinity Series, Skip Barber alumni Sammy Smith (4th), Chandler Smith (8th), and Cup Series regular Ross Chastain (9th) finished in the top ten. Meanwhile, USF Juniors was hosting a tripleheader of races from VIRginia International Raceway and reigning Skip Barber Race Series champion Sebastian Wheldon ended the weekend with a victory in Race 3. Fellow Skip Barber Race Series alumni Jeshua Alianell scored a top ten in Race 2. Graduate Jack Jeffers was third in Race 1 and second in Race 3. Lastly, Skip Barber Racing School graduate Brady Golan netted a pair of top-ten finishes in Races 2 and 3. Also at VIR was the 2024 Skip Barber Race Series where the series reached its halfway mark. Sebastian Wheldon’s younger brother Oliver Wheldon swept the weekend. Lastly, Skip Barber Racing School alumni Ashley Freiberg finished on the podium in Race 2 of the Porsche Sprint Challenge North America weekend from VIR. Looking ahead, the NTT IndyCar Series visits WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, Formula 1 and Skip Barber Racing School graduate Sergio Perez will head to Barcelona. The NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series will travel to New Hampshire, and the full offering of IMSA-sanctioned series including Michelin Pilot Challenge and Mustang Challenge will descend on Watkins Glen with the team from Skip Barber Racing leading the charge.
