A packed weekend of racing action saw Skip Barber Racing's Logan Anderson match his career-best finish in TC America powered by the Skip Barber Racing School, and our World Racing League trio of Dylan Weber, Ryan Emani, and Saverio Striglia earn a second-place finish in Watkins Glen.
The team's weekend in Elkhart Lake started strong as Logan Anderson went quickest in Free Practice 2 before mechanical gremlins robbed the team of a representative result in Qualifying. After a long night spent diagnosing and addressing the issue, Anderson and the team took to the track on Saturday morning with high hopes.
As sprinkles of rain began to fall in the closing minutes of the race, Anderson was sitting comfortably in fourth after climbing and battling through the field. When he took the checkered flag, Anderson had matched his career-best finish in TC America, and the team ended the weekend on a high note.
"I'm really proud of the way the entire team stuck together and dug deep," Skip Barber Racing Team Manager Gaby Gonzalez said. "Logan did a fantastic job in the car, and he showed some real heart this weekend and helped us end the weekend on a high note. We have some work ahead of us before Barber and we'll be ready for it."
Meanwhile, Dylan Weber, Ryan Emani, Saverio Striglia, and the remaining half of Skip Barber Racing were in Watkins Glen for the latest round of the World Racing League season in the team's Toyota GR86 car.
The trio began the weekend on a high note with a strong effort from Dylan Weber to put the car on the front row in the GP2 class. After rolling off the grid 31st overall, the team steadily climbed through the order, eventually finishing Saturday's eight-hour race 16th overall. While the weekend ended on a difficult note with a DNF on Sunday, the team still holds onto the lead of the GP2 East Championship and remains within striking distance of the GP2 National Championship, just 13 points off the lead.
Next on the agenda for Skip Barber Racing is TC America powered by the Skip Barber Racing School at Barber Motorsports Park on September 25 – 27 before the season finale at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on October 8 – 11. The World Racing League trio will return to the fray on October 16 from Sebring International Raceway before their season finale in December at Circuit of the Americas.
