The traditional opener to the racing season is in the books, with the 63rd running of the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona having concluded with a pair of Skip Barber Racing School graduates claiming podium finishes. Adding to the achievements of our alumni were a trio of graduates, all teammates in the same car, who secured a top-five result. The highest-finishing Skip Barber Racing School graduate was Colin Braun, whose second-overall finish in the Acura Meyer Shank Racing ARX-06 marked the American’s fourth consecutive podium finish at Daytona. Alumni Ricky Taylor, in the Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing entry, finished fifth in class. NASCAR Cup Series regular Austin Cindric was called upon by Ford Multimatic Motorsports to join their GT Daytona Pro lineup. Cindric, the 2022 Daytona 500 winner, helped deliver a third-place finish for himself and a double-podium result for the Ford Mustang GT3. Just behind Cindric’s Ford Mustang was the Paul Miller Racing BMW M4 GT3, driven by a trio of Skip Barber alumni: Neil Verhagen, Connor De Phillippi, and Madison Snow. In the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge, former Skip Barber Racing competitor Celso Neto scored a podium finish in his TCR debut. Neto, the 2025 IMSA Diverse Driver Development Scholarship winner, made his IMSA MPC debut last season in Skip Barber Racing’s Aston Martin Vantage GT4. Elsewhere over the winter, 2023 Skip Barber Race Series champion Sebastian Wheldon continued his rise through the open-wheel ranks by claiming his first international Formula 4 victory with a triumph in Abu Dhabi at Formula Trophy UAE. Wheldon’s 2025 racing season will be filled with various Formula 4 competitions with PREMA Racing, headlined by a program in Italian Formula 4.
