Oliver Wheldon Slated for 2024 Skip Barber Race Series

Andretti Autosport junior development driver Oliver Wheldon will compete in the 2024 Skip Barber Race Series, following in the footsteps of his older brother Sebastian who captured the championship crown last season. Like many of his competitors for the upcoming season, Wheldon enters the Skip Barber Race Series following a prosperous career in karting with championship titles in the SKUSA Winter Series and Rok Cup FWT. “I am super excited to race with Skip Barber in 2024,” Wheldon said. “This will help me a lot with becoming a better driver and learning to feel more comfortable in the car after making the leap from karts. “I can also lean on my brother Sebastian for advice, as he won the championship last year. I want to thank Andretti and Gainbridge for their continued support. I’m really looking forward to my first year in cars,” Wheldon added. Wheldon will make his debut with the Skip Barber Race Series on March 1 in the season-opener at Sebring International Raceway. Oliver is the second Andretti Autosport junior driver to compete in the Skip Barber Race Series after his brother Sebastian in 2023. The 2024 Skip Barber Race Series begins on March 1 and will visit six iconic tracks across the United States for a total of 14 races. The champion will receive a $100,000 scholarship to advance to a USF-sanctioned series. Second place receives a full-season entry into the 2025 Skip Barber Race Series while third place receives a half season. In total, approximately $375,000 in prizes will be awarded in the 2024 Skip Barber Race Series.
