In just his third start for the team, Skip Barber Racing School graduate Conor Daly gave Juncos Hollinger Racing its best NTT IndyCar Series finish with a masterful run that saw Daly drive from 25th to third place at the oldest racetrack in the world, the Milwaukee Mile. Daly was not the only Skip Barber Racing School alumni to find success over the weekend as Santino Ferrucci netted a pair of fourth place finishes in the twin 250-lap races. Skip Barber Race Series graduate Alexander Rossi was seventh in Race 1 and sixth in Race 2 to claim a pair of top ten finishes. Alumni Colton Herta (3rd) and Kyle Kirkwood (8th) also finished in the top ten in Race 2. Meanwhile, the NASCAR Cup Series was at Darlington Raceway for the Cook Out Southern 500. One of the crown jewels of NASCAR’s calendar, this weekend’s Cook Out Southern 500 was also the final race of the regular season and the last chance for Cup drivers to clinch their spot in the playoffs. Among the Skip Barber graduates with strong showings were Kyle Busch (2nd), Ross Chastain (5th), and Chris Buescher (6th). With the regular season in the books, the Skip Barber Racing School will be represented in the playoffs by five drivers: Harrison Burton, Alex Bowman, Austin Cindric, Joey Logano, and Tyler Reddick. In the NASCAR Xfinity Series, alumni Sammy Smith (5th), Chandler Smith (8th), and Austin Hill (9th) all finished in the top ten at Darlington. There are still three races left before the NASCAR Xfinity Series playoffs begin. The Skip Barber graduates currently locked in are Sammy Smith, Chandler Smith, Hill, and AJ Allmendinger. At Circuit of the Americas, veteran Skip Barber Racing School instructor Mike Stillwagon was in action with Skip Barber Racing for the latest round of Ford Mustang Challenge. Stillwagon added two podiums to his season with a pair of third-place finishes. He is third in the Dark Horse Legends standings with four podiums to his name. Lastly, Skip Barber Racing School graduate Sergio Perez finished the Italian Grand Prix in eighth.
