Skip Barber graduates sweep the NASCAR weekend in the Music City at Nashville Superspeedway! The weekend started with a high note from a Skip Barber grad, a young up-and-comer in the Craftsman Truck Series, Carson Hocevar, winning Friday night. The 20-year-old held off reigning series champ Zane Smith and polesitter Nicholas Sanchez in the race's final stages to earn his second career truck series win. The weekend would get better for Skip Barber graduates in the NASCAR paddock when AJ Allmendinger picked up his 17th career win at Nashville. Allmendinger would pull away from the field on the final lap to go on and take the win as others battled it out for second, coming to the checkered flag. To close out the weekend, the stars of the Nascar Cup series would take to the track for a 300-lap Music City showdown. Polesitter and Skip Barber Graduate Ross Chastain would go on to win Sunday night in Nashville and secure his spot in the NASCAR playoffs. Other Skip Barber graduates joined in on the successful weekend, with Erik Jones in a solid 8th, followed by Kyle Busch in 9th and AJ Allmendinger in 10th. The IMSA Weather Tech Sportscar Series headed to Watkins Glen for the annual running of the 6 hours at the Glen. Skip Barber graduate Connor De-Philippi and his BMW prototype team had a strong showing, leading much of the closing hours of the race. Sadly, the BMW was caught in slow GT traffic and lost the lead with just two laps remaining, putting graduate De-Philippi in second place for the finish in GTP. It was a different story for Skip Barber graduate Ben Hanley in the LMP2 class. Hanley would pilot his Crowdstrike racing machine to the checkered flag, winning the LMP2 class. Another Skip Barber graduate would take home a win at the Glen, with Aaron Telitz picking up the GTD win for Vasser Sullivan Lexus. Additionally, Skip Barber graduate and IMSA champion Jordan Taylor would round out the top three of the GTD PRO class in his Corvette Racing machine.
