Ryan Giannetta will compete in the 2024 Skip Barber Race Series. Giannetta joins a rapidly growing list of former karting drivers who will begin their careers in car racing with the Skip Barber Race Series. Giannetta completed a Three-Day Formula School at Circuit of the Americas and has a lengthy racing resume filled with karting experience at both the regional and national levels. “It was great, everyone was nice, super welcoming,” Giannetta said of his Three-Day Formula School. “The car was on rails the whole weekend. It was extremely hot, but it was all worth it. Everyone was super nice, and super supportive, everyone was trying to help, it was really great." After starting local karting at six years old, Giannetta climbed the ranks through the Los Angeles Karting Championship, Regional SKUSA, National SKUSA, ROK Cup, and compiled three entries in SKUSA’s SuperNationals. Aside from his karting experience, Giannetta has made brief appearances in Spec Miata before deciding on the Skip Barber Race Series after his experience with the Skip Barber Racing School. “Obviously, I’m hoping to win the championship this year but really, it’s going to be adapting to the learning curve from karting to cars and just getting used to the different atmospheres,” Giannetta said. The 2024 Skip Barber Race Series begins on March 1 and will visit six iconic tracks across the United States for a total of 14 races. The champion will receive a $100,000 scholarship to advance to a USF-sanctioned series. Second place receives a full-season entry into the 2025 Skip Barber Race Series while third place receives a half season. In total, approximately $375,000 in prizes will be awarded in the 2024 Skip Barber Race Series.
