Skip Barber Racing School alumni Joey Logano punched his ticket to the NASCAR Cup Series Championship race with a win in Las Vegas. After being the last driver to clinch a spot in the Round of Eight, the two-time Cup Series champion is on the cusp of a third title. Meanwhile, fellow Skip Barber Racing School graduate and championship-contender Tyler Reddick must close a 30-point gap at Homestead-Miami Speedway to earn his spot in the Championship 4. In addition to Logano, Skip Barber alumni Alex Bowman (5th), Ross Chastain (7th), John Hunter Nemechek (9th), and Chris Buescher (10th) finished in the top ten. Nemechek’s ninth-place result was his fourth top-ten of the season. On Saturday, Skip Barber graduate AJ Allmendinger secured his spot in the NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship 4 with a win. Allmendinger led a race-high 102 laps en route to victory. Alumni Chandler Smith (4th) and Austin Hill (10th) also finished in the top ten. Hill, Chandler Smith, and Sammy Smith are the three remaining alumni in the hunt for a spot in the Championship 4 with Chandler Smith currently holding the final slot. In Formula 1’s United States Grand Prix, Skip Barber Racing School graduate Sergio Perez finished 7th after starting in 9th. The 2025 plans for a number of Skip Barber Racing School alumni are already being unveiled including Colin Braun who will reunite with Meyer Shank Racing in the team’s revived GTP program. Graduate Hailie Deegan, meanwhile, will make her Indy NXT debut next season.
