Skip Barber Racing School alumni Moisey Uretsky and Michael Cooper won the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge race at Sebring International Raceway. Uretsky and Cooper were just two of the eight Skip Barber graduates who finished in the top ten in Friday’s race. Other alumni with strong finishes included Dillon Machavern (3rd), Austin Krainz (5th), Ford Koch and Jaxon Bell (6th), Sean Quinlan (7th), and Robert Noaker (8th). The success continued in TCR, where Lance Bergstein finished second in one of the Bryan Herta Autosport Hyundai Elantra N TCR cars. In Lamborghini Super Trofeo, alumni Danny Formal took home the victory in the opening race of the week. He followed that performance with a second-place finish in the Pro-Am class in Race 2. Lindsay Brewer finished second in Race 1 and third in Race 2 in the series’ Pro-Am class. Lastly, in the AM class, Johan Schwartz scored a pair of podium finishes. Graduate Marco Cirone swept the weekend in Porsche Carrera Cup North America with a pair of victories in the Masters class. Fellow alumni Richard Edge was second, just behind Cirone, in Race 1. Aaron Jeansonne finished second in the Pro class in Race 2, following a third-place finish in Race 1. In Mustang Challenge, Will Lucas was third in the Dark Horse class in Race 1. The headlining event of the weekend, the 12 Hours of Sebring, saw graduate Colin Braun score a fourth-place finish in GTP. Meanwhile, Neil Verhagen and Connor De Phillippi came home fifth in GT Daytona Pro. Finally, Robby Foley and Patrick Gallagher finished fifth in GT Daytona. Just over 500 miles north of Sebring is Darlington, South Carolina, where the NASCAR Cup Series, O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, and Craftsman Truck Series were preparing to take on the “Lady in Black.” Among the standout results from Skip Barber alumni were Brandon Jones and Ross Chastain, each taking home a second-place finish in the O’Reilly and Craftsman Truck Series races, respectively. Chastain was followed by Christian Eckes (3rd) and Grant Enfinger (7th) on Friday night. Parker Retzlaff (8th) and Sammy Smith (9th) finished in the top ten of the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race. Finally, Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race saw alumni Carson Hocevar (4th) and Austin Cindric (5th) finish in the top five. Chris Buescher (9th) and two-time Southern 500 winner Erik Jones (10th) rounded out the top ten. Finally, former Skip Barber Racing driver Will Lambros finished sixth in the King of the Modifieds at South Boston Speedway. Lambros started the race in 24th and climbed 18 spots over the course of the 125-lap race.
