Skip Barber Racing School alumni Ed Carpenter saw his team secure a victory at Milwaukee as Christian Rasmussen captured the first win for Ed Carpenter Racing since 2021. Meanwhile, Skip Barber graduate Alexander Rossi added a top-five finish for ECR, earning his best result of the season in the process. Fellow alumni Josef Newgarden ended the 250-mile NTT IndyCar Series race in seventh. In Indy NXT, Skip Barber Racing School graduate Myles Rowe scored his eighth consecutive top-ten finish with a sixth-place result, while alumni Max Taylor finished tenth. The NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series were in Daytona, the final chance for Cup Series drivers to secure a playoff spot. In the NASCAR Xfinity Series, alumni Connor Zilisch was credited with the victory—a triumph he watched from atop the pit box. Zilisch, still recovering from a shoulder injury, took the green flag in Friday night’s race before being replaced by Parker Kligerman. By virtue of starting the race, Zilisch was credited with Kligerman’s finishing position, which turned out to be first. Fellow alumni Sammy Smith (2nd) and Brandon Jones (6th) finished in the top ten—and unlike Zilisch, did so by driving their own cars. In the NASCAR Cup Series, alumni Erik Jones (5th), Chris Buescher (7th), and Josh Berry (9th) all scored top-ten finishes. At VIRginia International Raceway, multiple Skip Barber Racing School alumni earned strong results across a variety of series. Among the most successful graduates was Westin Workman, who scored a pair of third-place finishes in Mazda MX-5 Cup. Fellow graduate Justin Adakonis joined Workman in the top five in Race 2 on Sunday. In Ford’s Mustang Challenge, graduate Collin Harrison finished second in Race 2, while alumni Joseph Dederichs placed third in the Dark Horse Legends class. In Michelin Pilot Challenge, former Skip Barber Racing driver Celso Neto took fifth in TCR, while Robby Foley capped off the weekend for Skip Barber graduates with a fourth-place finish in GT Daytona in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race. Next week, eight Skip Barber Racing School alumni will begin their pursuit of a NASCAR Cup Series crown at Darlington Raceway. In the NASCAR Xfinity Series, graduates such as Jeb Burton, Christian Eckes, and Harrison Burton have two more races to solidify their spot in the playoffs. Finally, this week will see the penultimate round of the 2025 Skip Barber Race Series. The field of drivers will take on VIRginia International Raceway's Full Course.
