Two dozen Skip Barber Racing School graduates began their 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season with the Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium. Led by reigning NASCAR Cup Series champion Joey Logano, six Skip Barber Racing School alumni finished in the top ten on Sunday night. Joining Logano (4th) in the top ten were Bubba Wallace (5th), Ross Chastain (6th), Austin Cindric (7th), Tyler Reddick (8th), and Chris Buescher (10th). The grid will now move from the 0.25-mile venue of Bowman Gray to the 2.50 miles of Daytona International Speedway. Over half of the names on the 2025 Daytona 500 entry list are alumni of the Skip Barber Racing School. Many drivers are returning to their previous teams but some, such as Daytona 500 winner Michael McDowell, will be taking on the 2025 season with new teams. Other notable names on the alumni roster for 2025 are Josh Berry, who moves into the Wood Brothers Racing Ford, and the Legacy Motor Club teammates of John Hunter Nemechek and Erik Jones. While not entered for the Daytona 500, rising star and Skip Barber Racing School alumni Connor Zilisch will make his NASCAR Cup Series in 2025, joining Trackhouse at Circuit of the Americas. Zilisch will also be competing fulltime in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Other off-season moves for Skip Barber alumni include Christian Eckes moving from the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series to the NASCAR Xfinity Series, graduate Parker Retzlaff moving to Alpha Prime Racing, and Harrison Burton slotting into the AM Racing Ford.
