In the legendary NASCAR Cup Series Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway, Joey Logano secured a fourth-place finish. The driver of the No. 22 Team Penske Ford started from pole position, survived the grueling 367-laps, and landed solid points to help push him into the next round of the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs. Noah Gragson claimed the victory in the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Darlington Raceway. Gragson led 82 laps to his fourth win of the 2022 season. The No. 9 JR Motorsports Chevrolet driver is ranked second in NASCAR Xfinity Series Playoffs. Fellow Skip Barber graduate A.J. Allmendinger finished third. Allmendinger is first in the overall points standings and seeded third in the NASCAR Xfinity Series Playoffs. Colton Herta finished fourth in the INDYCAR Grand Prix of Portland. The No. 26 Andretti Autosport Honda rolled from the seventh-place position and worked his way through to claim his sixth Top- 5 finish. After the checkered flag flew in Portland, Herta finds himself eighth in the points standings.
