Skip Barber Racing School alumni Connor Zilisch captured his sixth victory in the last ten races at Gateway Motorsports Park on Saturday night. Including Parker Kligerman’s win as a substitute driver, Zilisch’s No. 88 JR Motorsports Chevrolet has now won four consecutive races and has not finished worse than fifth since the beginning of May. In addition to Zilisch, fellow Skip Barber Racing School alumni Christian Eckes (3rd), Brandon Jones (4th), and Parker Retzlaff (8th) finished inside the top ten. For Retzlaff, that eighth-place result is his best since a runner-up finish at Rockingham earlier this season. On Sunday, the NASCAR Cup Series took center stage with Skip Barber Racing School alumni Joey Logano (5th), John Hunter Nemechek (6th), Bubba Wallace (8th), and Chris Buescher (9th) all recording solid results. Wallace has had a stellar start to his playoff campaign. Through the first two races in the Round of 16, he has a pair of top-ten finishes and will head to Bristol 50 points above the cutline—the best margin of any Skip Barber graduate. Meanwhile, at Barber Motorsports Park, SRO America took to the undulating 2.38-mile circuit for a weekend of sports car racing. While many Skip Barber graduates collected wins and podium finishes, none fared better than Westin Workman, who swept the weekend in Toyota GR Cup North America. Workman, who is a Toyota Gazoo Racing Development Driver, was untouchable, clinching both pole positions and leading every lap of both races. Former Skip Barber Race Series competitor Jaxon Bell added a pair of top-ten finishes to his weekend, further solidifying his spot at the sharp end of the championship standings. Graduates Ethan Tovo and Ford Koch each recorded one top-ten result in GR Cup. In GT World Challenge America, alumni Connor De Phillippi earned one win and one additional podium in the Pro Class, while fellow graduate Robby Foley claimed top honors in Race 1’s Pro-Am class. Finally, Skip Barber Racing was in action in TC America powered by the Skip Barber Racing School, where James Klimas captured his second top-five finish of the season. Additionally, Alex Garcia and Michael Garcia teamed up to score a podium finish in GT4 America.
