Skip Barber Racing School alumni swept the top four spots of the NASCAR Xfinity Series race from Kansas Speedway. Saturday afternoon’s race was won by alumni Brandon Jones, who clinched a spot in the Round of 8 by virtue of that victory. Graduates Connor Zilisch (2nd), Austin Hill (3rd), and Sammy Smith (4th) finished behind Jones. That strong result moved Hill and Smith closer to the cutline, putting them within striking distance of a spot in the Round of 8. Jones and Zilisch combined to lead 96 of the race’s 200 laps. Meanwhile, in the NASCAR Cup Series, Skip Barber Racing School alumni Bubba Wallace (5th) and Tyler Reddick (7th) finished in the top ten with fellow graduate Ross Chastain coming home eleventh. The five Skip Barber graduates who remain in the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs will now head to the Charlotte Roval next weekend. Chastain, Wallace, Reddick, and Austin Cindric will be looking to leap above the cutline for the Round of 8. Graduate Joey Logano will enter the Charlotte Roval 13 points above the cutline. Lastly, a special congratulations to former Skip Barber Race Series and Skip Barber Racing driver William Lambros for finishing second in the U.S. Legend Cars Roud Course World Finals!
