Skip Barber Alumni Zilisch Ends Remarkable 2025 Rookie Season

Skip Barber Racing School alumni Connor Zilisch narrowly missed out on a NASCAR Xfinity Series title, finishing third in the season finale from Phoenix Raceway. The promising rookie, who is bound for a full-season ride in the NASCAR Cup Series, ended his 2025 campaign with ten wins, 23 top-ten results, eight pole positions, the best average finishing position, and an eighteen-race long top-five streak. Fellow Skip Barber graduate Brandon Jones was fourth while alumni Sammy Smith (6th) and Austin Hill (9th) also finished their seasons with top-ten finishes. In the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, graduate Jake Garcia was sixth in Phoenix. While alumni Joey Logano’s championship aspirations were dashed earlier in the playoffs, the three-time champion still put in an impressive fourth-place result, one spot ahead of fellow Skip Barber graduate Kyle Busch. Graduates Josh Berry (7th) and Michael McDowell (8th) also finished in the top ten on Sunday evening.
