HOLBROOK, NY -- The Skip Barber Driving Academy is proud to unveil that it has become a licensed driving school in the State of New York, another major milestone for the rapidly expanding program dedicated to providing life-saving training. In 2024 alone, the Skip Barber Driving Academy has introduced partnerships with the New York State PTA, expanded to a second location on Long Island, and hosted programs at new venues in Miami and Las Vegas. “This certification will allow the Skip Barber Driving Academy to continue to provide its life-saving training to a wider variety of people,” Skip Barber Driving Academy Chief Marketing Officer Dan DeMonte said. “We’ve understood from the beginning the impact that just one day of training can have on an individual’s driving and this certification is a testament to the work and dedication of our team.” Earlier this year the Skip Barber Driving Academy attended the annual conference of the Governors Highway Safety Association alongside its partner, NASCAR Cup Series driver Ross Chastain. This weekend, the SBDA will be present at the NYS PTA’s statewide convention. In 2025, the Skip Barber Driving Academy will expand to host programs in Austin, Texas, Sebring, Florida, and Alton, Virginia. Further conversations between the Skip Barber Driving Academy and transportation officials from over one dozen states are on-going. Today, the Skip Barber Driving Academy offers full-day and half-day programs which teach critical safe-driving skills including how to correct a sliding vehicle, emergency braking, and the unique dangers of wet-weather driving.
