F1 – Skip Barber graduate Sergio Perez was victorious in this weekend’s Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku. In a dramatic, late race restart, Hamilton locked up the brakes, missing the corner and handing the win to Perez. Perez competed in the Skip Barber National Championship in 2004. NASCAR – Skip Barber graduates finish 1-2 in the NASCAR Xfinity Series races at Mid-Ohio. A pit-road penalty put A.J. Allmendinger towards the back of the pack for the final stage but was able to fight back to the front of the field. He also had to defend in the late race restart to secure the victory. Allmendinger competed in the Skip Barber National Series and then in the Barber Dodge Pro Series, where he won a championship. Justin Haley, a 3-Day Racing School graduate, finished in second place.
