Skip Barber Racing School graduate Chandler Smith led 76 laps en route to victory in the ToyotaCare 250 from Richmond Raceway. This win is Smith’s second of the season following a victory at Phoenix Raceway in March. Smith has now won both short-track races this season and has not finished outside of the top ten in 2024. Joining Smith in the top ten on Saturday were fellow Skip Barber Racing School graduates Austin Hill (8th) and Sammy Smith (9th). Additionally, Skip Barber alumni Parker Retzlaff impressed mightily by claiming the pole position for the 250-lap event. Over half of the drivers in the top fifteen of the Toyota Owners 400 on Sunday were graduates of the Skip Barber Racing School including Joey Logano who finished second after gaining two positions in the overtime restart. Other notable finishers were Chris Buescher (9th) and Tyler Reddick (10th). The USF Juniors season kicks off in NOLA where six Skip Barber Racing School graduates including Sebastian Wheldon, Jeshua Alianell, and Jack Jeffers will start their 2024 campaigns. Racing alongside USF will be the Skip Barber Race Series. Lastly, NASCAR will stay in the Commonwealth of Virginia and visit Martinsville Speedway with a full slate of action in the Cup Series, Xfinity Series, and Craftsman Truck Series.
