Skip Barber Karting Scholarship Shoot-out

Friday, January 13, 2006 A total of 59 karters from North America converged on Sebring International Raceway's two-mile ''Modified'' circuit to vie for more than $100,000 in scholarships to race in the 2006 Skip Barber National Presented by RACER and/or the Skip Barber Regional Race Series. Day one was autocross and skidpad in performance street cars, followed by each driver getting on track in the R/T 2000 for a 25-minute session.

011306aThe lens couldn't catch all 59 drivers during the first drivers' meeting -- but you get the idea...

011306bThere's no doubt everybody's trying hard to win one of the 2006 paid seats.

011306cAs you might imagine, pitlane was -- and will be -- a very busy place all three days of the Shoot-out.

011306dThere is a lot at stake. Who will win the top prize?.
