Skip Barber Race Team Prepared for Sebring Showdown

The Skip Barber Race Team will have a strong presence in Sebring this weekend as the team prepares to run three cars across two different championships at the famed 3.741-mile course in the heart of Florida. The team will enter a pair of Honda Civic Type R TC machines and a Honda Civic SI FE1 in TC America powered by the Skip Barber Racing School. In GT4 America, the team will bring its Toyota GR Supra GT4. The only change to our team’s lineup is the absence of Cooper Broll who was forced to miss this weekend’s action at Sebring due to an illness. Everyone at the Skip Barber Racing School is wishing him a speedy recovery and we can’t wait to have him back!

TC America powered by the Skip Barber Racing School

Race One: Saturday, September 23, 11:15am EST Race Two: Sunday, September 24, 9:45am EST    Celso Neto - #7 Honda Civic Type R TC Celso has been one of the most consistent drivers in the TC America field this season. Collecting seven podiums through the first ten races of the year. The Brazilian is returning to the Skip Barber Race Team after spending time in the NASCAR Brasil Sprint Race series where he scored a top-five result in between the TC America rounds at Road America and Sebring. “I’m really excited for Sebring, it’ll be a tough race but, in any case, I really enjoy driving at Sebring and together with the entire Skip Barber Race Team we’re going to work hard to overcome the challenges the weekend will give us,” Celso said. “It’s a home race for us since I live in Florida now, meaning I’ll have a lot of support from friends and family at the track which will give us that extra push that can go a long way!” Neto is currently third in the championship standings and with a strong weekend at Sebring, could move to second by the end of the weekend.    Jeremiah Burton - #34 Honda Civic Type R TC The Donut Media personality has, unsurprisingly, acclimated himself quickly at the controls of the Honda Civic R TC. Since joining the team partway through the season, he has demonstrated consistent improvement in both his race craft and one-lap pace and as a bonus has added humor to the team as a stand-up comic! Burton narrowly missed his first podium at VIRginia International Raceway, but with his third race weekend as a member of the Skip Barber Race Team under his belt, it won’t be long until he begins to fill the trophy case with some serious hardware.   William Lambros - #77 Honda Civic SI FE1 Competing in the TCA class with a Honda Civic SI FE1, Lambros has been one of the bedrock members of the Skip Barber Race Team this season. He has five podium finishes including a win at VIRginia International Raceway. Lambros has eight top tens this season, including two at the year’s most recent event in Road America. With his consistency and experience, Lambros is poised for another successful weekend representing the team in the TCA class. Will is currently third in the class standings and looking for a big weekend that will put pressure on those above him.

Pirelli GT4 America

Race One: Saturday, September 23, 5:00pm EST Race Two: Sunday, September 24, 10:50am EST   Matt Forbush & Carter Fartuch - #37 Toyota GR Supra GT4 Matt and Carter enter the Sebring weekend off the back of a top five finish in Road America. “I’m really looking forward to getting back behind the wheel at my home race at Sebring. We keep getting our Skip Barber Racing School GT4 Toyota Supra better and better and we’re looking to keep finding speed in this double header weekend,” Carter said. “It’s going to be hot, slick, and bumpy behind the wheel but myself, Matt, and the rest of our amazing Skip Barber crew are up for the challenge.” Like it will be for Celso, this round will also be the home race for Carter, who, in addition to his driving duties, serves as a Skip Barber Racing School instructor. He has gotten a head start on the weekend after spending the week working with students in Skip Barber’s One-Day and Three-Day racing school in addition to one-on-one coaching with current Skip Barber Race Series championship leader Sebastian Wheldon and series competitor Lincoln Day. All the action in both Pirelli GT4 America and TC America powered by the Skip Barber Racing School can be viewed on the GT World YouTube channel.
