Skip Barber Racing will travel to Birmingham, Alabama and Barber Motorsports Park for a weekend of action in GT4 America and TC America powered by the Skip Barber Racing School. Fresh off a podium in GT4 America, Alex Garcia and Michael Garcia will look to build upon their success from Road America where they earned a podium finish. "Sometimes it’s about maximizing what you have, at Road America we lacked a bit of outright pace, but by staying patient and taking our chances we turned it into a strong second," Michael Garcia explained. "That kind of execution is exactly what we’ll need heading into Barber’s triple-header this weekend." Meanwhile, James Klimas and the No. 61 Middletown Toyota GR Corolla TC is building a hot streak of their own. Klimas and the all-new GR Corolla TC have begun to hit their stride in recent rounds. The duo has scored more points in the last four races than they achieved in the previous seven races – a great testament to the team and driver who have continually worked to extract the most out of the GR Corolla TC in its first year of competition. “I’m looking forward to carrying the momentum from Road America into Barber Motorsports Park,” Klimas said. “I’m feeling competitive, and the car setup feels like we’ve really dialed it in. Can’t wait to hit the paving and corners at Barber – Oh, and the Buc-ee’s too!” Unlike a normal GT4 America weekend, the Garcia brothers will face a trio of races in their No. 07 PolePace Aston Martin Vantage GT4. Lightning storms forced the postponement of Race 1 at Road America. That race will be made-up on Friday afternoon before Qualifying and the normally-scheduled Race 1 on Saturday. “We had a great weekend at Road America,” Skip Barber Racing Team Manager Joe Monitto said. “Now we just need to replicate the success we saw with the McLaren Trophy team for James, Alex, and Michael. Barber Motorsports Park is a tricky place, but I’m confident that the laps we’ve put down at our home track of VIRginia International Raceway will help us tackle the high speed corners and undulations in Alabama. We know what to expect and we just have to execute.”
