Skip Barber Racing closed the curtain on its 2024 season with a trio of statement wins at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Throughout the summer, Skip Barber Racing collected 10 wins and 25 podiums in TC America powered by the Skip Barber Racing School. In Toyota GR Cup North America, Alex Garcia spearheaded the team with four Hard Charger Awards. Lastly, the team made its GT4 America debut with Marc and Tyler Sharinn before ending the season with Alex and Michael Garcia in Indianapolis. For their efforts, the team finished second in the TC America powered by the Skip Barber Racing School TCX Team’s Championship and second in the TCA Team’s Championship. In GT4 America, Skip Barber Racing finished tenth in the Am Team’s Championship. In TC America powered by the Skip Barber Racing School, Celso Neto and Cooper Broll were the beneficiaries of the dedicated efforts of Skip Barber Racing and Honda Racing Corporation who continually developed the Acura Integra Type S into a race-winning machine. After claiming the car’s first win at VIRginia International Raceway, Skip Barber Racing and Celso Neto rattled off five more wins and never finished off the podium. Broll, meanwhile, scored his first-career podium at VIR and ended the season with four podiums to his name. As Neto and Broll spearheaded the charge in TCX, Alex Garcia was dominating in the TCA class. Garcia added the TCA program to his racing regime as part of his duties as a Skip Barber Racing School Development Driver and quickly found success with a win at Sebring International Raceway in his first start. Garcia would go on to claim four more wins and 10 podiums in the Honda Civic Si FE1. His season culminated in a triple-header of action at Indianapolis Motor Speedway where he added GT4 America to his already-packed portfolio of racing that included Toyota GR Cup North America and the Skip Barber Race Series. Garcia’s Toyota GR Cup program would be equally as impressive. He amassed four Hard Charger Awards with impressive showings at Circuit of the Americas and Sebring where he passed a combined 31 competitors in the two races. Torrential rain at Road America nearly gave Garcia his first career win but the Floridian was swept up in the chaos of a late-race restart and saw his chances dashed. Garcia closed the books on 2024 with a pair of top-ten finishes in Toyota GR Cup North America. Since making his debut with Skip Barber Racing in the season finale last season, James Klimas has done nothing but improve. With support from Skip Barber Racing School instructors, Klimas quickly climbed the ranks into the fierce Toyota GR Cup North America midfield. Klimas was rewarded for his dedication with a career-best finish in Indianapolis where he passed ten drivers. Lastly, Skip Barber Racing School instructor Mike Stillwagon secured second place in the Dark Horse Legends championship of Mustang Challenge with a pair of podium finishes at Indianapolis. In addition to the team’s five full-season entries, Skip Barber Racing also fielded part-time entries for Will Lambros in Toyota GR Cup North America as well as two pairs of family members in GT4 America. The father-son pairing of Marc and Tyler Sharinn debuted at Circuit of the Americas and ran a clean three hours en route to a seventh-place finish. In Indianapolis, the Garcia brothers took over with Michael and Alex making their GT4 America debut in the season finale.
