Skip Barber Racing School alumni Sergio Perez will return to the FIA Formula 1 World Championship grid in 2026, joining Cadillac's Formula 1 outfit for their maiden season. Perez, who trained with the Skip Barber Racing School at the beginning of his racing career, has 285 career entries, placing him eighth all time. The 35-year-old brings a wealth of experience to the rookie team. After finding multiple years of success in karting, Perez traveled outside of his native Mexico to compete in the 2004 Skip Barber National Championship. Perez earned a podium finish at Road America and added a further seven top-ten finishes to his rookie record. Following that season, Perez moved to Europe to continue advancing his Formula car career. He climbed through Formula BMW, British Formula 3, and Formula 2 -- then-named GP2 -- before making his Formula 1 debut in 2011. “Joining the Cadillac Formula 1 Team is an incredibly exciting new chapter in my career," Perez said.
