Skip Barber Racing School Announces 2016 Championship (formerly “Summer”) Series

Braselton, Ga. (February 5, 2016 )—Skip Barber Racing School is excited to announce the upcoming schedule for the 2016 Championship (formerly “Summer”) Series. The upcoming season promises to be the most thrilling yet with Formula racers vying for the most lucrative purse of the series -- a $200,000 scholarship**.
In the past, racers would earn a spot to compete in the Skip Barber Championship Shootout, a three day competition where a champion would be crowned, but this season will be different: the 2016 Skip Barber Formula Championship Series Champion will earn the purse. This season, racers will travel to 7 iconic tracks including new venues like Pittsburgh International Raceway and Thomposon Motor Speedway while enjoying old favorites including Road Atlanta, VIRginia International Raceway and Autobahn Country Club.
“We want to continue Skip Barber Racing School’s tradition of creating champions,” said Race Series Director Casey Carden, “and this new format will ensure that the season will be more competitive than ever. Racers will need to be consistent, driven and determined to win the $200,000 scholarship.”
With it’s time tested “Arrive and Drive” format – ensuring that every racer has access to the same equipment regardless of their ability to spend, Skip Barber Racing School is the purest form of racing. World class instruction at world renowned tracks set the stage for an action packed season of racing If you want to get back in the seat of a race car, this is the season to do it!
