Skip Barber Racing School alumni set new records in Indy NXT, won a four-hour endurance race at Mid-Ohio and emerged victorious in a fierce IndyCar race at Gateway. Plus, Skip Barber Racing earned a podium finish from Daytona after a grueling 14-hour endurance race in the World Racing League. Ryan Emani, Saverio Striglia III, and Dylan Weber are now leading the WRL GP2 East Championship and are third in the National Championship standings following this weekend’s success. The trio finished second in class and tenth overall after 14 hours of racing in Daytona, an outstanding result for the all-rookie lineup who rose through the ranks of Skip Barber Racing School’s programs. Skip Barber graduate Myles Rowe drove from his 24th-place starting position to the win of the Indy NXT race at World Wide Technology Raceway. This was the deepest any race-winner has started in the 40-year history of the Indy NXT Series and is Rowe's third victory in the series. All of the 25-year-old's wins have come on ovals and this weekend's triumph follows a second-place finish in Detroit. Skip Barber alumni Josef Newgarden picked up where Rowe left off, driving his Penske machine to his 34th-career victory, matching Al Unser Jr.'s total. This is Newgarden's sixth victory at Gateway – he has now won 54% of his starts at the 1.250-mile, egg-shaped, oval. Kyle Kirkwood, who finished sixth, was the next-best finishing Skip Barber graduate. In Michigan, the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and NASCAR Cup Series took to the high-speed 2.0-mile oval. Skip Barber grad Carson Hocevar (3rd in Trucks, 5th in Cup) scored a pair of top-five finishes. Graduate Erik Jones was second on Sunday afternoon. That result was Jones' best non-superspeedway finish since Pocono in 2019. Just behind Jones was Bubba Wallace whose third-place finish is his best since winning the Brickyard 400 last season. Graduates Joey Logano (7th) and Chris Buescher (9th) also finished the Cup Series race in the top ten. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (7th) and Jake Garcia (9th) had strong runs in the Truck Series race. Success for Skip Barber Racing School alumni continued into sportscar racing where eight different graduates finished the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge race in the top ten. Among the standout performances was Moisey Uretsky and Michael Cooper, who won the four-hour race in their McLaren GT4. Dillon Machavern (2nd), Sean McAlister (3rd), Austin Krainz (4th), and Jaxon Bell (5th) also finished in the top five. Aurora Straus (8th) and Robert Noaker (10th) also finished in the top ten. In TCR, Skip Barber alumni Lance Bergstein was fourth while Celso Neto was fifth. In the IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge, graduate Westin Workman swept the weekend in GSX while Danny Soufi added a pair of podium finishes in the P3 class. Former Skip Barber Race Series driver Lincoln Day had two top-five finishes, including a podium in Race 2 in the P3 class. Ishmaeel Ellahi added a podium finish in GSX to the lengthy list of accomplishments for Skip Barber alumni. The winning theme continued into Mazda MX-5 Cup where graduate Justin Adakonis was victorious in Race 2. Fellow alumni Gresham Wagner scored a podium in Race 1 while Ethan Tyler netted himself a top-ten result. In Mustang Challenge, Will Lucas was third in the Dark Horse class of Race 2 while Joseph Dederichs scored a pair of podiums in the series' Dark Horse Legends class. Finally, on the horizon for graduates Jordan and Ricky Taylor is the 24 Hours of Le Mans where the brothers will share a Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing entry and compete for an overall victory in the 94th edition of the French classic.
