Skip Barber Racing School graduates claimed both the overall victory and a class victory during the IMSA Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring Presented by Cadillac, as alumni Colton Herta and Jordan Taylor paired with Louis Deletraz to take the overall win in their No. 40 Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti Acura ARX-06. Kyle Kirkwood, another Andretti Autosports driver who started their career with the Skip Barber Racing School, took home the top honors in GTD Pro in the #14 Vasser Sullivan Lexus RC-F GT3. Other notable finishers included Connor De Phillippi and Misha Goikhberg both scoring a top-five in their respective classes. While Skip Barber Racing School graduates fought into the night at Sebring, graduates in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series were preparing for battle in the Last Great Coliseum of Bristol Motor Speedway. A pair of alumni, Christian Eckes and Kyle Busch, would dominate the evening leading a combined 249 of the races’ 250 laps with Eckes holding off Busch to take the victory, leaving Busch to settle for second place. The only other driver to lead a lap on Saturday night was another Skip Barber Racing School graduate, Zane Smith. Smith ended his evening in third as fellow graduate Matt Crafton completed a sweep of the top four spots with his fourth-place result. On Sunday afternoon, three Skip Barber Racing School graduates finished in the top ten of the Food City 500 with Alex Bowman (4th), leading John Hunter Nemechek (6th) and Chris Buescher (7th). Looking ahead to next week, the NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series, and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will visit their first road course of the year with a showdown at Circuit of the Americas. The Skip Barber Racing School will be competing in the Craftsman Truck Series race in a truck prepared by Reaume Brothers Racing and driven by Skip Barber’s Director of Instructors Carter Fartuch. Additionally, the NTT IndyCar Series will visit The Thermal Club in Southern California for a non-points event. A total of $1.756 million will be awarded with the winner taking home $500,000. Finally, Sergio Perez will carry the Skip Barber Racing School banner in Melbourne for the Australian Grand Prix.
