The 2009 Lime Rock Park Open House was the public introduction to Skip Barber’s 2009 fleet of Racing and Driving School cars and the KTM 990 Super Duke like those featured in the all new Skip Barber Superbike School Powered by KTM. (Display bikes courtesy Moroney’s Cycles, New Windsor, N.Y.)
Skip Barber Racing School, LLC opened the gates on our 2009 season at Lime Rock Park with a free Open House at the Lakeville, Conn. facility. After an overwhelming number of RSVPs to the event, more than 500 hearty souls braved wintery temperatures and even snow flurries for demonstration laps around the 1.51 mile Lime Rock Park road course by Skip Barber Racing School instructors. Guests also got a turn behind the wheel for autocross and skid pad exercises on Lime Rock Park’s infield training facilities in Skip Barber’s fleet of Mazda Driving School cars.

… For a “hot lap” by a Skip Barber Racing School instructor in a race-prepped Mazda MX-5 Cup race car.
“Today was not only an opportunity to welcome some old friends back and introduce ourselves to some great new people people, it was a “trial by fire” for our technicians and operations people.” said Kevin Seidl, Senior Vice President, Operations for Skip Barber Racing School. “After a full day of supporting the hot laps and supporting the autocross and the other activities we had here, they are ready to provide the highest quality of work for our upcoming schools.”
The 2009 Skip Barber Racing School season at Lime Rock Park begins in earnest on April 11th with a One Day New Driver Program. Our full complement of Racing Schools, Mazda Driving Schools, High Performance Driving School and Race Series activities are scheduled between now and the end of the season this fall.
